Craig Harrison was given an extra boost on Thursday morning when it was confirmed that the 1000th Season Ticket had been sold for 2017/18.

While the Pools boss has been busy adding five new players since being appointed earlier this month, he is also keen to see as many fans sign-up to be #InTheSquad for the new campaign.

And the latest milestone was reached just after 10am on Thursday when John Hart arrived at the Victoria Park to purchase his Season Tickets for 2017/18.

“I thought I had done something wrong with my application when the lady called me over but I am over the moon to be the 1000th Season Ticket sale – I’ll be famous again,” he laughed.

“I started watching Pools back in the 1950s but I used to be in a band which made it hard to get to all the games but over the last few years I’ve been regularly and had a Season Ticket again.”

Retired gardener John was at The Vic with his grandson, Michael, collecting Cyril Knowles Stand Season Tickets for the two of them as well as his two sons, Stephen and Paul.

And after being handed squad number 1000 for the upcoming campaign, he told us that he can’t wait for the big kick-off having been very impressed with the new gaffer.

“I am looking forward to this season a lot more than I have the last few,” he explained.

“The Manager seems to be the bee’s knees and it looks like the right appointment going by what I have read about him in the press and the players he has brought in.

“The new signings sound encouraging and hopefully they will bring a bit of bite to the team that we have been missing – I’m hopeful we can push on and have a good season.

“We are that used to doom and gloom that we are a bit cautious I think, but I am feeling more positive about this season – without getting too carried away!”
