A North East cleaning firm is helping builders in the region to make a clean sweep of their jobs when they’re finished.
KAI Cleaners, based in Brunswick Village in Newcastle, is diversifying from its key corporate and domestic cleaning business to provide teams of professionals to clear up at homes and businesses after builders have finished their work.
Karen Innes from Jarrow, who started KAI Cleaners in 1998, said: “I’ve heard friends and colleagues complain so many times about the mess that builders leave when they’ve finished a job.
“Although reputable firms will clear up after themselves, they are builders, not professional cleaners, and it’s fair to say that while their construction work is spot-on, their cleaning abilities often leave something to be desired.
“By providing this new service for building firms in the North East, they can get on with their jobs while we return the building area back to the standards of cleanliness domestic and corporate customers expect.”
Kai Cleaners has started its new venture by teaming up a number of tradespeople, including Paul McDonough, who runs Whitley Bay-based Ultimate Home Improvements, specialising in building conservatories and replacing doors and windows.
Paul said: “Before I started my own business, I worked with builders and window replacement companies when the importance of cleaning up after yourself was drummed into me.
“I pride myself on being clean, but by working with Karen, my team can concentrate on the job – and know that customers will be left with a clean home and positive impression.”
In a competitive marketplace like home improvements, any advantages that firms can gain in providing a better service to customers are important. Attention to details such as how builders leave the client’s property when they have finished make a big difference and can play a key role in winning more work.
Karen said: “People have told me that they won’t use certain firms again, not because they carried out a poor job, but because of the mess they left behind when they were finished.
“It doesn’t have to be like this. By working with professional cleaners like us, you can be confident that there will be no complaints or lingering ill-feelings about the state of the work area when you’ve done the job.”
In addition to working with tradespeople, KAI Cleaning also carries out contract office cleaning, works with domestic clients and also offers deep cleaning and ironing services for customers across Tyneside.
