Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Leading Housebuilder Seeks Children’s Help to Welcome Tall Ships Regatta

Miller HomesNORTH East youngsters are being given the opportunity to help Miller Homes celebrate the arrival of the Tall Ships Regatta in Blyth next month with a children’s drawing competition.

Children are being asked to draw a colourful flag, with the winning design being created into a real life-size flag which will be raised to the top of a flagpole at Miller Homes’ Portland Wynd development in Blyth. The winner will also receive a flag of their own to take home.

Children’s designs should be bright and eye-catching and welcome the Regatta into Blyth, whether it’s a sketch of a Tall Ship, a drawing of Blyth’s favourite attractions including the Beach Huts, or their own take on what their dream ship would look like.

The raised flag will be seen by those travelling to the Regatta, which is being hosted at the Port of Blyth from 26 to 29 August 2016, as the development is located Off Laverock Hall Road, a route which is frequently used by people making their way to the coast.

Andrew Somerville, Miller Homes North East’s regional sales manager, said: “The upcoming visit from the Tall Ships Regatta is fantastic for the region and is already generating a lot of excitement. As our Portland Wynd development is so close to the coast and the Port of Blyth, we wanted to get the local community involved in helping us to mark this occasion in a special way.

“The flag which will be created from the winning design of our children’s drawing competition will be proudly raised at Portland Wynd to welcome the Regatta, and will be seen by the thousands of people heading to the coast to be a part of this fantastic event in the region. We’re really looking forward to seeing all of the entries.”

Entry forms are available to collect from participating Miller Homes North East sales offices, which are open Mondays from 12:30pm to 5:30pm and Thursdays to Sundays from 10:30am to 5:30pm.
