Mantank Environmental Services has added the drain and sewer division following demand from clients to add this service to is already extensive offering.

The business – which specialises in a wide range of high quality industrial cleaning solutions to both corporate and small businesses across the chemical and petrochemical sectors – has introduced the division which will provide cleaning and removal of waste from drains, sewers and lagoons.

To deliver this, the company has invested £1million in three new state of the art CCTV cameras that can detect blockages together with two new jet units that will remove any obstruction.  The business has also recruited a whole new section of staff to make sure the specialist service is delivered by fully trained and experienced personnel with plans to increase this from 12 to 20 staff in only a year.

Speaking about the investment, Mick Hill, General Manager at Mantank said: “Since starting the business our plan has always been to reinvest capital into new machinery, vehicles and people so that we can continue to grow, win new contracts and, most importantly, provide jobs to people in the north east region.

“And -for us – this investment is already paying off in terms of 12 new members of staff who have – in a very short space of time – secured 20 new contracts from both new and existing customers.  We’re absolutely delighted with the success of the new division, which whilst we always knew would deliver, has far exceeded our initial expectations and business projections.”

And for Mantank the strategy of continued reinvestment appears to be working, with the company reporting increased profits year on year and an increased workforce from four to forty in only two and a half years since its formation.  Only recently the company purchased its own offices in Portrack Lane, Stockton, a move which it believes firmly seals its commitment to the North East and Teesside.

One of the employees at Mantank to benefit from the million-pound investment is Business Development Manager, Peter Lappin, who has been working alongside the  new drain and sewer division for the last 18 months and who was instrumental in securing a major new contract with one of the region’s largest utility companies.

Peter commented: “It was important to the business that it responded to the demands of its clients and, as such, created this new divisional unit.  Since then the whole team has worked incredibly hard to continue to deliver the excellent service Mantank has become recognised for, the outcome of which is 20 new contracts which will, not only, firmly cement the future of the 12 new members of staff, but importantly will create further jobs in Teesside and particularly Stockton.”

Mantank provides industrial cleaning solutions to the chemical and petrochemical sectors carrying out a range of services including hazardous and non-hazardous waste management, vacuumation, industrial cleaning, tank cleaning and plant decommissioning.
