The Princess Alexandra Auditorium in Yarm has attracted another big name star. TV and West End star Lee Mead is bringing his ‘Up Front and Centre’ show to the town in October.

As well as winning the BBC series ‘Any Dream Will Do’, Lee has also starred in Wicked, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Casualty and most recently Holby City. He will take centre stage in the 750-capacity Princess Alexandra Auditorium on Saturday 7 October, with tickets going on sale at 10am this Friday morning. (Fri 30 June).

Lee will be performing songs from ‘Joseph’ and other well-known musicals and also singing some of his own favourites, including music he would love to have recorded himself. The show also features his last four albums, including the most recent ‘Some Enchanted Evening’ which took listeners back to the musicals and films of the 1940s and 1950s.

Dan Brookes, Auditorium Manager, said: “We are absolutely thrilled that one of Lee Mead’s few live performances in 2017 will be at our fantastic Princess Alexandra Auditorium.

“The venue is gaining a reputation for excellence from performers and audiences alike. This year we have had a number of high profile performers and speakers, from Michael Portillo and Lord Professor Winston to Elkie Brookes and Leo Sayer. I am delighted we are able to bring artistes of Lee’s calibre to tees Valley audiences.”
