Postcode Millions - Gateshead NE8 4On Saturday, players of People’s Postcode Lottery in Gateshead, were celebrating a huge win as their postcode was selected for the monthly Postcode Millions draw.

At the event, held in Saltwell Park, Gateshead on 3rd September, representatives from supported charities, including local children’s charity Children North East which has received an amazing £971,383 from players to date, attended to thank the 250 winners who each won a share of £3 million.

The winning postcode, NE8 4, covers Children North East’s base on Gladstone Terrace in Gateshead.  From this base the charity runs a variety of projects for vulnerable and disadvantaged children, young people and families.

Projects include Gateshead Bump Buddies, which supports families through pregnancy and beyond by providing practical and emotional support throughout the whole process, the Whoops Child Safety Project, providing practical advice and courses on safety and first aid, and our new Counselling service for young people in the Gateshead area.

Carol Taylor, Senior Fundraiser at Children North East, said: “The unbelievable support we receive from Players of People’s Postcode Lottery is astounding.  For us, this unrestricted money is invaluable and enables us to provide services to continue supporting children, young people and families who are in desperate need of our help. Thank you so much to the Players and huge congratulations on your win.”
