Five star housebuilder, David Wilson Homes North East, has been celebrating Teddy Bear Picnic Day with the help of pupils from Chandlers Ridge Primary School. Children from the school’s Year 1 class, along with their favourite teddies, were invited down to the Grey Towers Village development in Nunthorpe to enjoy a very special lunch break.

  • Pupils joined the David Wilson Homes North East team for an afternoon of food and fun at the Grey Towers Village sales office, which was funded by the housebuilder. Despite the typically British summer weather of drizzle and overcast skies, the indoor picnic was a great success and the sales team were able to show the children around the development after they had enjoyed their lunch.
  • To celebrate the day, as well as congratulate the children on doing so well at school as the term comes to a close, the sales team at the development also treated each pupil to their very own David Wilson Homes dog teddy to take home with them.
  • Based in the heart of Nunthorpe, Grey Towers Village offers a stylish collection of three, four and five bedroom homes in a wide variety of designs. It combines the best of village life with the conveniences of modern living.

Steven Ball, Sales Manager at Grey Towers Village, said: “We’re always looking for ways to give back to our local community, so we were delighted when Chandlers Ridge Primary School were able to come down to the development to celebrate Teddy Bear Picnic Day with us. The pupils have worked hard all year so they deserved a treat and our team really enjoyed taking part and making this an extra special lunchtime for them.”

Ruth Whitehead, Year 1 class teacher at Chandlers Ridge Primary School, said: “The teddy bear’s picnic was a lovely treat for the children. They’ve produced some excellent work this year and deserved to get out and have an afternoon of fun. We’d like to thank the David Wilson Homes team for inviting us and being great hosts, we all had a great day.”
