Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Local primary school team up with housebuilder to help Barnard Castle bloom

With spring in full bloom, local housebuilder David Wilson Homes has been helping Green Lane CE Primary School in Barnard Castle create their own flower garden.

  • The year one class at Green Lane C E Primary School received their very own plant pots from the housebuilder and were asked to decorate them in their very own special patterns for spring
  • The team from the new Five Acres development then helped the children plant pansy seeds into their plant pots
  • Creating their very own flower garden with their plant pots, the class learnt about the process of how a flower goes from seed to full bloom and what wildlife their flowers will attract throughout the year
  • Five Acres is a new development of three, four and five bedroom properties in Barnard Castle, featuring a range of modern house designs that suit a number of requirements and offers ideal family living

Alison Hartley, Class Teacher at Green Lane C Of E Primary School, commented:

“We’d like to thank David Wilson Homes for gifting us with the plant pots and helping the class plant their seeds. The children will be excited to see their flowers grow throughout the summer and will be looking out for any bees and butterflies the pansies may attract.”

Steven Ball, Sales Manager at Five Acres, commented:

“We had great fun with Green Lane Primary School. Their plant pots were brilliantly decorated and the whole class were engaged and excited to plant their seeds. We always work hard to give back to the communities we build in and we hope the children at Green Lane Primary School continue to see their flowers grow throughout the spring and summer.”
