Local Restaurants and Castlegate Shopping Centre back First Ever Tees Valley Food Calender

12 Tastes Of The Tees is a culinary journey of the Tees Valley showcasing the region’s best restaurants and the exceptional talents of the head chefs. The calendar features local eateries including: The Crathorne Arms, Muse and The Bay Horse at Hurworth plus plenty more, to help raise valuable funds for Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation.

The calendar has been completely funded by Castlegate Shopping Centre with 100% of all sale proceeds going directly towards the shopping centre’s goal of raising over £10,000 for the foundation.

Castlegate Centre Manager Karen Eve was the ideas person behind the charity concept – as a patron of Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation, the Stockton-based shopping centre continually look at ways to be creative and inventive with their charitable giving.

Karen said: “We are so proud of 12 Tastes of the Tees, it makes an ideal Christmas gift and is a must for any kitchen or office in 2018. We are also incredibly grateful to the 12 fantastic restaurants that all gave their time free and collaborated with us to create one of the Tees Valley’s first-ever food calendar.

“By producing the calendar we are helping raise awareness and money for the many worthy caused Middlesbrough & Teesside Philanthropic Foundation support and we are asking our shoppers and local businesses to support this cause and purchase a copy of the calendar.”

Featuring in the month of October, The Curing House; Owner Peter Walker said: “The calendar lookssumptuous, a beautifully designed and photographed product that really does positively reflect the culinary flair in the area.  A newly established business like our own this calendar helps put us on the map with new diners’ but more importantly together with all of the other restaurants featured we have collectively helped create 12 Taste Of the Tees and so I hope as many as people possible buy a copy knowing the money raised will help local folk in Teesside this Christmas”.
