Martongate Primary School Receive £150 Towards Improving Playground Facilities

Christmas came early for homeowners at McCarthy and Stone’s Chestnut Court retirement in development in Bridlington last week, when they welcomed Martongate Primary School choir to perform at a special Christmas concert.

The thriving community of homeowners were joined by family and friends to celebrate their first Christmas at the development, where they enjoyed a selection of yuletide classics and traditional carols from the school choir to sing along to, as well as delicious mulled wine and mince pies to get everyone in the festive spirit.

A donation of £150 was also made by McCarthy and Stone towards improving the playground facilities at Martongate Primary School, something the Headteacher Mr Carruthers, staff and pupils have been fundraising for.

John Suddaby, a homeowner at Chestnut Court, said: “The Christmas concert was so wonderful, and the children from Martongate Primary School choir got us all tapping our feet and singing along.

Everyone really enjoyed the experience and the chance to welcome the festive season a little earlier this year. Since moving to Chestnut Court we have made a number of new friends, and we are thoroughly looking forward to celebrating Christmas and welcoming in the New Year with them all.”

Jayne Wilmot, Sales Executive at Chestnut Court said: “Our Christmas concert was such a big success and we were delighted with the turnout of visitors. We are really thankful to the Martongate Primary School choir who put on the most fantastic show, and we hope that McCarthy and Stone’s donation will help towards the improvements to their new playground.

“A wonderful community and companionship is just one of the many benefits of living in a McCarthy and Stone development. Our Christmas concert event is such a brilliant example of this and was a great way of helping to make our homeowners’ first Christmas a memorable one. With a new year looming, now is a great time to consider making a fresh start, so we’d urge anyone interested in Retirement Living at McCarthy and Stone to contact the sales team without delay.”
