More than 300 positions in a variety of sectors will be showcased at a Job Fair in Middlesbrough Town Hall on Thursday, June 11, and anyone looking for a new career is invited.

The recruitment day will highlight jobs available in the hospitality, customer service, finance, health and social care and manufacturing sectors.

The event reflects the huge transformation which is taking the town to a new level on the back of major investments totalling £500 million – and that means there are now hundreds of vacancies for local people to apply for.

Key employers looking to recruit include Axa Insurance, On A Roll Sandwich Manufacturer, SK Chilled Foods, First Source Business Solutions, Marston’s pub group the NHS and Redefine BDL Hotels who are the main operators of Holiday Inn who are opening soon in Middlesbrough.

With applications now being accepted from many of the companies, the Job Fair is a great opportunity to find out more about the roles available and meet the companies’ recruitment teams.

Developments such as the 138-room Holiday Inn Express in Centre Square are set to bring jobs, more visitors and more money into the town.

Mark Winter, General Manager of Holiday Inn Express Middlesbrough, said: “We’re on the hunt for the best individuals Middlesbrough has to offer as we gear up to open an internationally-branded hotel, which we hope will compete with the best venues in the town.

“We’re looking for lots of people to fill a variety of positions, from individuals with little or no experience looking to kick-start their careers, to more experienced professionals with the drive to help us build a hotel that guests and local residents alike will love.”

Middlesbrough Deputy Mayor Charlie Rooney said: “There’s a growing sense of confidence across the town, and that’s reflected in the range of companies and enterprises that have chosen to invest here.

“It’s a real demonstration of their belief in Middlesbrough as a leisure and business destination and is helping to move the local economy on to the next level.

“It’s also a fantastic opportunity for people to get started in a new career, and I hope as many people as possible attend the Job Fair.”

The Job Fair takes place at Middlesbrough Town Hall on Thursday, June 11 from 10am to 4pm. Admission is free and all are welcome to attend.
