North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

National Junior League Title defended for BATTC

With a ten-point lead going into the last set of matches confidence was high within the A team and this confidence showed with a 9-0 victory over Ormesby C with Lee Tinkler, Ed Sett and to keep the pressure on second place side Darlington A before playing them in the next round. A tense well fought match saw Bishop Auckland take a 3-1 lead which they never surrendered going on to a 6-3 win. That victory meant the team only needed to win 5 matches to retain the title. Which the team did comfortably with a 9-0 victory over Ormseby B. Not satisfied with having matched last year’s team feet by winning the league but they also matched the unbeaten status with a 7-2 victory over 3 rd place Ormesby A.

The B team of Kieron Bowes, Alex Dickons John Waterworth and Jamie Collins excelled all expectation finishing by finishing in 5 th place. They were the highest place B team. The last day saw them almost score the perfect weekend with victories over Darlington B Northumbria and Ormseby but in the final game went down to second place Darlington A
