‘Time to get online’ offers a training programme though a County Durham Housing Group, Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes, East Durham Homes and Teesdale Housing Association partnership, and aims to raise awareness of the benefits of digital technology and show people that the internet is not as daunting as it may first appear.

Two interactive sessions are coming up to highlight the basics of the online world:

  • Wingate Children’s Centre on Thursday, 3 December between 10am and 12pm
  • Bowburn Community Centre on Tuesday, 8 December between 10am and 12pm.

By signing up participants will see the advantages the internet offers, especially at this time of year when online shopping can take some of the stress out of preparing for the festive season.

Victoria Musgrove, Digital Inclusion Project Co-ordinator, said: “Our sessions aim to show people that online technology is nothing to be afraid of and the benefits in all aspects of life are endless.”

For more information on December’s event call 0800 032 0835, 0800 068 0013 or visit www.timetogetonline.org.uk, which promotes up and coming sessions across the county as well as providing self-help guides.
