A stunning eyewear collection from Cartier, offering a contemporary take on classic design to broaden the brand’s appeal, has been unveiled at Vision Express’ flagship London store with a VIP invitation-only event.

Held at the Vision Express Oxford Street store and hosted by Kering Eyewear, the launch debuted the Panthère de Cartier and Santos de Cartier ranges. It showcased the ophthalmic and sun collection to special guests, which included Vision Express charity partners, media, and VIP customers.

The range delivers a fresh feel for Cartier, with frames priced from £400 to £2,000. It was debuted at Oxford Street in a dedicated store-in-store and will be available in 13 premium Vision Express locations nationwide.

Vision Express CEO Jonathan Lawson welcomed guests to the event, alongside Kering Eyewear’s CEO & Chairman Roberto Vedovotto. Jonathan said: “This is a really exciting event and we’ve got a really special brand here in Cartier, which we’re honoured to host at Vision Express. It’s fantastic to see Kering’s vision for a new Cartier collection that brings a modern flair to attract a younger audience, come to fruition.

“It’s a tough time for retail at the moment, so we need to celebrate successes. Our team here is so impressed by the new range that they’re already asking for more product – they’re excited to offer it to our customers.”

The Cartier eyewear collection consists of 12 ophthalmic frames and 10 sunglass designs. The Panthère de Cartier collection includes modern square and cat-eye shaped funny sunglasses and glasses inspired by the enigmatic character of the panther, a symbol of the brand since 1914.

Rendered in tortoiseshell and other finishes, complete with golden metal arms and three-dimensional panther heads, the style has all the classic Cartier accents with a new fresh feel. The aviator Titaninum Sunglasses are crafted from golden metal and are ultralight frames at the top half of the lenses, which are tinted in a gradient grey and punctuated by three-dimensional panther heads. From the Santos de Cartier line that pays tribute to Brasilian aviation pioneer Alberto Santos-Dumont, these glasses from the collection are an exceptional interpretation of a classic style. Crafted from golden metal with black lacquer accents, they feature screws inspired by a watch design from the famous jeweller.
