The news sees Calibre Secured Networks Ltd improving Horsham District Council’s wireless network and the internet-based telephone services used by council staff and ratepayers across West Sussex as part of an undisclosed contract.

The Science Central firm is also onsite to resolve Wi-Fi security protocol problems that will not only increase system capacity but also enable council employees’ personal mobile devices to automatically and securely connect to online and email services.

Other new contracts have been secured from Wrexham County Borough Council where Calibre has undertaken a local area and a wide area network review.

This review also included recommendations for network performance improvements, PSN compliance in line with current CESG guidelines and a plan for disaster recovery and business continuity.

John Mangan, IT technician at the council, said: “We have benefitted from Calibre’s excellent service. They are extremely professional and know what they are doing.

“Their solutions are sensible, practical and always good value for money, delivering clear benefits for us.”
