New Staff DEC 2014The North East’s leading Peugeot dealership has recently recruited three additional members of staff to strengthen its development and growth plans.

Simon Bailes Peugeot, which has dealerships in Stockton, Guisborough and Northallerton, has appointed Lucy Williams as fleet sales administrator, Lesley Thornburn as marketing co-ordinator and Deborah Shackleton as trainee sales executive.

Lucy, from Bedale, will be responsible for processing orders and facilitating stock movements within the busy fleet department, while Deborah, from Ingleton near Darlington, will work in vehicle sales.

Lesley, from Acklam, joins having just graduated from Teesside University with a first class honours in marketing. Her role within the business includes managing the company’s online offering including web development, digital and social media and assisting with in-house marketing and events.

All three new recruits are graduates with additional work experience and bring new skills and ideas to the business.

Simon Bailes Peugeot has cemented its position as one of the UK’s leading Peugeot franchises as it continues to grow more rapidly than expected, despite difficult trading conditions in the last 18 months.

The business is bucking the trend in the motor industry having experienced a 5.5% rise in revenue for the period 2012-2013. In 2012, sales grew to £45.13 million from £42.76 million. New vehicle registrations rose by 7%, outperforming Peugeot’s national growth of 4.73%. Used car sales also increased by 3.9%.

Simon Bailes Peugeot is the UK’s most accredited Peugeot dealership after being awarded its twenty third Guild of Gold Lion accolade earlier this year for providing the highest standards in sales, service and customer satisfaction and for being a top performing Peugeot dealership.

Speaking about the new staff, MD Simon Bailes said: “Investing in the best staff is vital to the success of our business. The people we employ make us what we are and I am very proud of that. These new team members bring with them a mix of industry experience which will enable us to progress with our development in the coming year when we hope to maintain our stronghold as one of Peugeot’s best-performing franchises in the UK.”

Simon Bailes Peugeot was established in 1979 and employs around 120 people at its three dealerships across the region. All staff operate in line with the company values of customers, people, honesty, standards and profit.
