Screen Shot 2015-06-01 at 09.09.44A NORTH East yoga company proves it is ‘happy’ to help charity with its new studio opening event.

Happy Yoga Newcastle, set up by Jo Hutton in 2014, opened the doors to its new city centre location on May 25.

The event, which was held at the studio at Curtis Mayfield House, Carliol Square, Newcastle, raised £331.79 to help the victims of the Nepal earthquake.

The afternoon gave guests the chance to see the new studio and take part in a special yoga workshop run by Jo.

The opening also included a gong bath, run by Gill Gosling of Gong Yoga, which is a therapeutic meditation practice designed to help people to settle their minds and enter a state of deep calm, along with lunch.

“The opening event couldn’t have gone any better,” said Jo Hutton, founder of Happy Yoga Newcastle.

“I’m delighted that so many people came along to help me celebrate and that we raised money for such a good cause too.

“I love teaching yoga and the new studio will allow me to help more people experience the benefits of the practice. It’s lovely to see it get off to such a great start.”

The new studio will bring all the company’s classes together under one roof and allow Happy Yoga Newcastle to increase the number of customers it can cater for.

The classes that will run at the new studio will include, beginner yoga, pre and post-natal yoga and improver yoga.
