SoPost, a tech company working with consumer brands to help them run product sampling campaigns via social media, has opened a new office in the Empire State Building, New York, following a successful first three years.

The company, whose headquarters is based in The Core on Newcastle Science Central has benefited from the site’s creative and collaborative working environment, where investors, businesses, entrepreneurs, students, scientists and citizens can collaborate and innovate together.

Jonathan Grubin, CEO of SoPost, said: “SoPost is going from strength to strength and we’re excited to be expanding into the US market. Newcastle has a phenomenal tech scene in which we’ve been able to thrive and grow. The city will always be at the heart of our business, and it’s a place from where we can drive our domestic and international growth.”

Alongside SoPost’s expansion into New York, the team based in Newcastle will also be growing as the company looks to recruit 12 members of staff over the next 6 months.

The Core, Newcastle Science Central’s first building on site, is a place for collaboration, where people come together to share skills and knowledge – generating ideas for the future. Businesses based on site benefit from unique access a network of academics, researchers and industry experts allowing them to learn, collaborate, innovate and grow.

Newcastle Science Central is a project delivered through a dedicated partnership between Newcastle City Council and Newcastle University.
