Will Welch captains Newcastle Falcons on Saturday when they host Greene King IPA Championship finalists Doncaster Knights at Kingston Park Stadium (kick-off 3pm).
Having defeated Nottingham 50-12 in last weekend’s pre-season opener the Falcons hand a debut to former England Saxons centre Dominic Waldouck as part of his month-long trial spell.
Joel Hodgson starts at fly-half after a fortnight on Singha 7s duty, the former Yorkshire Carnegie man having rejoined the Falcons after two years away from Kingston Park. Fellow sevens flyer Dan Marshall comes in on the right wing, Alex Tait slotting in at full-back.
The forward pack sees a first senior start for Kenyan international Joshua Chisanga, Canada lock Evan Olmstead handed a place in the side after scoring from the bench during last week’s debut. Scott Lawson comes in at hooker, while 19-year-old Ben Stevenson is in line to make his senior debut from the bench.
Season ticket members for 2016-17 are entitled to free entry for this game as part of their package. Tickets for non-season ticket members are priced £20 for premium seating, £10 for standard seating and standing or £5 for under-16s. To book call 0871 226 6060.
