Teesside-based Nortech Group has forged an agreement with leading Middle East contracting company, Dhabi Contracting LLC, to form a new business delivering a range of engineering services to industry in the United Arab Emirates.
Dhabi Nortech provides Engineering Design (Engineering House) and Project Management Consultant (PMC) solutions for UAE’s oil & gas, process, petrochemical, chemical, infrastructure and energy sectors.
The new venture, which is based in Abu Dhabi, provides fully-integrated engineering design, project management and construction services from project feasibility to completion and has already secured its first contract.
Dhabi Nortech has been engaged by Abu Dhabi Gas Industries Ltd (GASCO) to deliver a flare system upgrade project at one of its major onshore gas processing facilities.
Wynyard-based Nortech Group, which is a fast-growing specialist engineering service provider, will add value to Dhabi Consulting’s established reputation for delivering civil engineering and electro-mechanical engineering projects by applying its experience and expertise to support assignments in sectors including energy and chemical.
Having established its Engineering Design, Management Consultancy and Staffing Search and Selection services in the UK market from its bases in Teesside and Aberdeen, Nortech focused on the Middle East with initial support from UKTI.
The company won the UKTI’s Passport to Export competition, which secured them a place on a trade mission to Dubai and Abu Dhabi in December 2014. The visit instigated a growth strategy, which resulted in forming this new agreement with Dhabi Contracting LLC.
Dhabi Nortech will initially operate from Dhabi Consulting LLC premises in Hamdan Street, Abu Dhabi operated by existing staff from both partners. Dhabi Nortech has the ambition to recruit additional local workers as the enterprise grows.
