Nortech Group’s Annual Charity Golf Day & Shoot has raised £2100 for its chosen charity Daisy Chain.

The event was held at Billingham Golf Club with prizes awarded to the winning golf team and the triumphant team at the Clay Pigeon shooting, which was taking place a short distance away at Thimbleby.

Some of the money was raised through sponsorship, including from event partner sponsor MTE Ltd. Accountants Evolution sponsored the half-way house with food supplied by Blackwells of Norton. Other sponsors included Archers Law, which sponsored ‘Nearest To The Pin’, Recognition PR, which sponsored the ‘Longest Drive’ and supporting sponsors Axiom and AD networks.

The remainder of fundraising came from Nortech employees and their guests from clients and local businesses, and from the evening raffle and auction. Prizes available from the draw included a ‘Fizzy Afternoon Tea for two’ at Marco Pierre White’s restaurant in Newcastle, which was donated by Emirates, a wash, a cut and blowdry at North East hair salon Hooker & Young and a four-ball game at Wynyard Golf Course.

The event was part of Nortech’s ongoing community activity as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative, Nortech Cares. Previously, Nortech has raised over £25,000 for charities in the Teesside area alone. This year’s chosen charity, Daisy Chain, provides support to families affected by autism in the Tees Valley.

Bryan Bunn, MD of Nortech commented: “Our annual Golf Day & Shoot has become a permanent fixture in Nortech’s social calendar. Not only is a great way for our team and clients to socialise, network and have some fun, but it’s also for a great cause.

“We’ve raised money for some great charities over the years and Daisy Chain is no exception. I’m thrilled that so many businesses have got involved, especially our amazing sponsors, because without their participation, none of this would be able to happen.”

Stuart Dexter, Chief Executive at Daisy Chain added, “As Nortech’s chosen charity, we have received an overwhelming amount of support from the company.

“It’s Golf Day & Shoot is probably Nortech’s most successful fundraising event of the year, so to have the funds from this day dedicated to Daisy Chain, is amazing.”
