Leading North East holiday lettings agency, Cottages in Northumberland, has reported an outstanding 98% customer satisfaction rate from visitors to their coastal, countryside and city properties across the region.

The impressive figures are based on reviews from over ten thousand visitors who stay in the self-catering properties let out on behalf of owners from all over the country. Cottages in Northumberland now manage over 200 properties.

The Newcastle based company also experienced a period of record growth in 2016, with an increase of 10% visitors choosing a Cottages in Northumberland property compared to previous years.

David Henderson, of the Scottish Sun, visited Clashope Cottage, Bamburgh, in December 2016 with his family. He said: “No break is complete unless you have the perfect accommodation — so enter Clashope Cottage. With all the amenities, and more, this generously proportioned, four-bedroomed former farmhouse was just the ticket.

“After staying at Clashope Cottage, the family have left me in no doubt the bar has been set very high.”

One guest who stayed at 1 Smugglers Cove in Beadnell, is already looking forward to his next visit after he stayed in April 2017. He said: “It was just what we needed and you advertised. A well presented and looked after location with all we needed. We wanted a quiet, smart, clean place to stay and relax. That is exactly what we got and then some. We hope to revisit again in the future.”

Visits to Northumberland are expected to increase in 2017, after the county’s coastline was recently voted Holiday Destination of the Year in the BBC Countryfile Magazine Awards 2017, and the region achieved Silver in the Best UK Holiday Destination category at the British Travel Awards for the third consecutive year in November 2016.

Angela Mazingham, Director of Operations at Cottages in Northumberland, said: “It’s fantastic to see the recognition the area is receiving as a go-to holiday destination on a national level and this can only help to boost visitor numbers and the local economy in the long run.

“The success we’ve experienced over the last 12 months has exceeded our expectations and can be attributed to the recent growth in appetite for UK staycations and the pull of Northumberland as a great holiday destination. Because we offer local expertise, coupled with a friendly, personal service, our customers and property owners are all benefiting from our success.

“As well as helping families and individuals to choose the ideal holiday rental for their needs, we have a well sourced network of local handymen and cleaners to ensure that their holiday is perfect from beginning to end and excellent links with local attractions, so we can provide a range of added value discounts to ensure our guests get the most from their stay in the area.”
