The North East’s fastest growing heating and plumbing merchant, Flame Heating Spares, is in the running for a prestigious, national industry award.
The Gateshead-headquartered firm, which has a presence in Ashington, Durham, Gateshead, Newcastle, South Shields, Stockton and Sunderland, is a finalist in the Collaboration of the Year category at the H&V News Awards 2017.
The Flame Heating Spares mobile application has been shortlisted for the honour, which has been designed to help reduce downtime and support the North East’s heating engineers and installers. It provides an end-to-end solution with diagnostic capabilities on any boiler and can instantly monitor and check stock levels for parts at each of Flame’s branches.
Flame enlisted the help of gas services firm 0800 Repair Gas during the development stage of the app, as its engineers used it while carrying out routine jobs and installations throughout the North East.
The H&V News award shortlisting follows on from a successful 2016 for the company, which saw its sales grow for the fifth consecutive year to £6.4m, and its Managing Director, John Savage, was named the Institute of Directors (IoD) North East Young Entrepreneur of the Year and won the Entrepreneurs’ Forum’s Emerging Talent Award.

Flame will join a number of the UK’s largest companies in the construction and heating and plumbing trade at the awards, which will be held at the Grosvenor House Hotel, in London, on April 20th.
