After a period of business expansion for North East-based engineering firm, Ardmore Craig, the company has now settled into its new office in The Beehive at Lingfield Point, Darlington.
In the past three months, the company has expanded both the size of its team and service offering, with staff growth of 25 per cent.
The firm has also recently won an order from a European client associated with Naval Architecture work, which sees Ardmore Craig entering into new markets as part of their service expansion.
Andy Stevenson, director at Ardmore Craig said: “It’s been a really successful year for Ardmore Craig and following a period of expansion, it was the right time for us to seek new premises to support with our continued growth.”
Over the summer months, Ardmore Craig was appointed onto a number of new projects and therefore required additional resource.
The company welcomed several new employees to the team to support on these projects, which included a number of rapidly delivered cable lay spreads which were used on both UK and European windfarms over the summer months, as well as a North Sea oil and gas project on behalf of a drilling contractor and major oil company, involving the design of several flare boom support frames for sea transportation and quayside storage.
In the coming months, Ardmore Craig seeks to employ further senior engineering roles and a business development role to support with their ongoing expansion.

“This change means additional capacity to undertake larger scopes of work and to take on additional clients as the business looks to grow. The new services such as naval architecture and larger design and build projects will allow us to offer full packages through a single source to our clients saving them both time and money through improved efficiencies.”
To support its ongoing growth, Ardmore Craig has also invested in a brand-new website which went live last week.
A local artist was also supported by the firm, who commissioned a range of original paintings to display in the office. James Paterson was tasked with creating the pieces of art, taking inspiration from the company logo and a series of manufacturing drawings.
