One more Green Bin Collection this Year

Hambleton residents are being reminded that there is only one more garden waste collection left this year for those who have subscribed to the service.

The last collections take place week commencing 27 November before being suspended over the winter months.  Alternate green bin collections restart week commencing 5 February, 2018.

There will be no special green bin collection for Christmas trees  – for those residents who have subscribed to the garden waste service trees can chopped up and placed in the green bin ready for collection in February.   Trees left at the side of bins or protruding from bins will not be collected.

Non subscribing residents will have to dispose of their trees themselves  – trees can be taken to the Household Waste Recycling Centres at Sandholme Lane, Sowerby; Yafforth Road, Northallerton; Leeming Bar Industrial Estate; Stokesley Industrial Estate and Tholthorpe for composting.  The sites are open from 8.30am until 4pm.    They are closed on 25, 26 December and 1 January and every Wednesday.

  • Every household should have received a bin tag attached to their bin, listing refuse and recycling collection dates for  winter, Christmas and bank holidays during 2018.  Anyone who has not received one can contact the council on 01609 779977 or check on www.hambleton.gov.uk for exact collection dates.
