Well-earned refreshment was provided by Herriot Hospice Homecare following the run and each runner was also awarded a unique commemorative pin badge.

“The parkrun is also an integral part of the Hambleton Running Hub programme that includes Run leader training courses, Community Running Groups and support for new running ventures,” said Dave Earl, Development Officer – Health and Wellbeing.

“Since it started nearly 1300 runners have taken part and 4,300 individual runs and 1040 PB’s have been posted.

“Over 50 people have volunteered their services to enable the parkrun to be the success it has become. Volunteers are the lifeblood of the event and provide support in many different roles.  So if you do not want to run but would like to be involved please come along as we are always on the lookout for more helpers.

“The Parkrun takes place each Saturday on the fields around Northallerton Leisure Centre. The run starts at 9am with a pre run briefing just beforehand.”
