Fast growing law firm, PG Legal has added three experienced consultants to its portfolio as it branches into new legal divisions.
The commercial firm, based in Team Valley has appointed Andrew Perriman, expert in landlord and tenant law, Nick Dent, accredited mediator and third sector specialist and William Green, agricultural law specialist, to deal with an increasing workload as it expands into these territories.
This comes after a successful third year of trading, which showed an increase in turnover of 460% on its first year of trading. With the acquisition of these highly skilled consultants it is now targeting significant further increase in year four.
Andrew Perriman, who developed a law clinic within Teesside University, said: “PG Legal is an innovative firm, with a forward thinking ethos which is demonstrated by its expansion in a time of austerity. It is clearly attracting clients due to its approachable nature.”
Having over 25 years in experience in the legal profession, Nick Dent added: “There is a genuine feel-good factor surrounding PG Legal. There is a real bond amongst the team and I think that this is recognised by the local business community. The future for PG Legal seems very bright indeed.”
William Green, who has over 20 years experience within agricultural law, is bringing an expertise in land law that will enable PG Legal to deliver a higher service to its clients, as well as specialist knowledge of the countryside that only a few of the larger firms in the north can deliver.
PG Legal, which has notable clients such as ARCH, the property arm of Northumbria County Council and Work book stores, was one of the first firms in the area to establish itself as a limited company, as opposed to traditional LLPs or partnerships.
Phil Dean, PG Legal’s founder said: “We wanted to embrace the alternative business structures now permitted by the Law Society to allow us to consider offering directorships to members of the profession traditionally excluded from partnership.”

The firm, which is delighted to grow its own talent, currently has two trainee solicitors, Amandeep Singh and Charlotte Emerson, who are both due to qualify in 2015 and are likely to be kept on within the team.
Plans are in place to recruit a new trainee, after students from Teesside University and Northumbria University have successfully completed work experience.
