Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Places going Quickly for Darlington Business Week

Places on more than 20 different workshops and events are being snapped up quickly for the first Darlington Business Week which runs from 18 to 22 September.

Business people can get advice and help on: innovation, IT and security, marketing and website support, employment law changes, funding, networking and more, by attending one or more of the free events and workshops throughout the week.

Young people will have the chance to develop their career at the Foundation For Jobs Apprenticeship and Ingenious technology events and there will the chance to find out more about and get involved in Experience Darlington, the new visitor strategy for the Borough.

Other events include: Darlington Business Summit, Cummins behind-the-scenes tour, TEDCO business start-up workshops, Digital City ‘digital technology’ workshop, Virgin Trains East Coast pop-up shops and a NEECC/Darlington Business Club networking event.

The events will support the full range of business – from people thinking of starting a business – to helping Darlington’s larger organisations to grow within the town.

Cabinet member for Economy and Regeneration, Councillor Chris McEwan, said:

“Our Business team has put together an ambitious programme of activities to support entrepreneurs, local businesses, and also to show Darlington is the place for business investment and growth. We’re really keen to involve our young people in this week too, so we’ve organised events around apprenticeship opportunities in Darlington, and activities which highlight future careers in engineering”.
