Play-Offs MVP Hampton back with Riders

Leicester Riders have re-signed last year’s BBL Play-Offs Final MVP, Pierre Hampton for the upcoming season.

Hampton will return to the Riders following a successful first season that culminated in three pieces of silverware for the club for only the second time in it’s history.

Hampton averaged 11.8 points per game as well as 6.8 rebounds per outing, whilst helping the Riders to a 37-7 record across all competitions.

“We are thrilled to have Pierre back with us,” commented Head Coach, Rob Paternostro.

“He is not only a great player but a great teammate who will do anything it takes to win games. He was tremendous to work with last season and we are looking forward to working with him in the 17-18 season.”

Hampton joined the team from Sweden today as a training camp continues for the squad ahead of September’s British Basketball All-Stars Championships and the start of the BBL Season.

Riders and Belgian forward Thomas De Thaey have also parted ways by mutual consent.

Tickets are on sale for All-Stars Basketball Championship are available online now.
