PSYCHE celebrates investment in Middlesbrough store

PSYCHE has celebrated the official opening of its new £500,000 extension.

Online transactions through Psyche’s state-of-the-art website account for nearly a quarter of all sales and are rapidly growing.

The business has already appointed six new members of staff and plans more recruitment in the near future.

The Lord Lieutenant Mr Barry Dodd CBE performed the official opening at an event that brought together Tees Valley’s top business people, customers and representatives from the high-end brands sold at Psyche.

The evening offered networking and Christmas shopping opportunities and the chance to tour the new extension. Drinks and canapes were available together with lots of offers and giveaways and entertainment from a live jazz band and former X Factor singer Keira Weathers gave guests a preview of her first single, which was released on Friday 9th ~December.

The night also raised money for the MFC Foundation.

Steve Cochrane, owner of Psyche, said “We are very proud to be a Tees Valley business, creating jobs and investing in the local economy. The extension took six months to build and cost £500,000, it’s the future of Psyche.

“With the extension we can grow the company and recruit more staff along with improving our facilities for existing staff.

“Thanks to everyone that came along to help us celebrate, we had a fantastic night.”

Speaking at the event Lord Lieutenant Mr Barry Dodd CBE said: “Psyche is a beacon of light in Middlesbrough and the North East; it is an exemplar. The company has been around for a long time and will continue to drive up the whole of the retail offering in the North East.

What I’ve seen here is a knockout, compliments to the team, I wish them success for the future.”
