A leading catering design and installation firm is all smiles following the appointment of an experienced office administrator to its team.

South Tyneside-based Restaurant Design Associates (RDA) is welcoming Olivia Rose Gatens to the company.

Olivia, who lives in Washington, is responsible for managing the office environment, meeting and greeting visitors, and carrying out PA duties for the directors.

Prior to joining RDA, Olivia worked as a dental nurse and receptionist for eight years, and has built extensive experience in a range of administrative tasks within busy dental practices, including diary management, organising appointments and recording minutes, as well as assisting the practice manager with daily duties and handling patient queries.

Olivia said: “I recently completed a qualification in Business Administration as for a while now I have been eager to pursue a career within administration.

“I have been very impressed with previous projects RDA have been a part of. They have an impressive list of clients and I was particularly drawn to the forward thinking, welcoming team they have.”

Outside of work, Olivia continues to put her administrative and organisational skills to good use, as she is busy planning for her wedding next September. She also enjoys spending time with family, girly pamper nights and walks with her miniature Yorkshire terrier Henry.

RDA was set up in 2007 and has since become one of the UK’s leading design, supply and installation companies, specialising in the catering, hospitality and retail industries. The firm employs 19 people including designers, quantity surveyors, project managers, specialist consultants and site managers.

Since its launch, the company has completed more than 300 projects for a wide range of clients across the UK and beyond, including hospitals, universities, blue chip companies and independent restaurants.

The company regularly achieves repeat business from a variety of clients – from NHS trusts to contract caterers and private companies of all sizes, on a local, national and international scale.

This year, RDA has seen particular success in the education sector, through winning new tenders, securing further work with Durham University and Northumbria University, and becoming the official headline sponsor of the Independent Schools’ Bursars Association (ISBA) Annual Conference in Edinburgh – a prestigious event in the sector’s calendar.

Managing director Roy Addyman said: “We’re delighted to welcome Olivia as the newest addition to our team. Her excellent communication and organisational skills have been clear from the outset and she will be a key asset in our busy office environment as our client list continues to grow.”
