Reports outline Housing success across Durham

Screen Shot 2015-08-27 at 16.11.28Around 18,500 households have been sent a report of their landlord’s performance over the last year.

Dale & Valley Homes, Durham City Homes and East Durham Homes, as part of County Durham Housing Group, have worked with tenants to produce their annual reports for 2014/15.

The 36-page reports, which are available at www.countydurhamhousinggroup.co.uk/annualreports1415, have been issued to customers and highlight how each organisation has performed on six nationally recognised housing standards, including how homes are let, how stakeholders can make a difference, and key services such as repairs and improvements.

And as a useful reference for the year ahead, the reports have a calendar format so tenants are always reminded of when to pay their rent and how they can take part in events across their local community.

Gemma Davies, Corporate Strategy Coordinator at Dale & Valley Homes, said: “This report is significant as it covers our final year before ownership of homes transferred to us from Durham County Council.”

Rachel Edmunds, Head of Service Improvement at Durham City Homes, continued: “It’s great for tenants to be able to read about what has been a monumental 12 months, which paved the way for us to be established as their local landlord.”

Rhonda Pickering, East Durham Homes’ Marketing and Communications Officer, concluded: “We now look forward to what lies ahead in terms of our strength as a group of landlords, and making sure tenants can see the real differences made in 2015/16.”
