Situated on Stockton High Street, the bustling retro-themed specialist market will play host to around 15 stalls offering an exciting array of gifts and goodies from decades gone by.

Face painting will be taking place throughout the day while The Stottie Company, who are in the running for a national sandwich design award this month, will be on hand to take care of everyone’s catering needs.

There’s also an exciting addition to the line-up with an exhibition of around 20 vintage cars visiting the High Street, with models ranging from the 1930s to the 1980s in attendance.

All of the excitement will be backed by The Darling Dollies, a three-piece band playing thrilling covers of golden oldies from the 1950s and 60s – as well as modern favourites with a vintage twist.

Councillor Nigel Cooke, Stockton-on-Tees Borough Council’s Cabinet Member for Regeneration and Transport, said: “The Retro Market has been a popular event in the past and I hope that people, residents of the Borough and from further afield, will make a date in their diary to come down to Stockton and see what’s on offer.

“There’s something at the event for all ages from the nostalgic music and vintage car rally to the wide variety of retro products – I’d encourage everyone to come down and experience what is set to be a great day out on the High Street.”

The Retro Market takes place between 10am and 4pm this Saturday (7 May) on Stockton High Street.

The event is free of charge to attend and free parking for one hour is available in all Town Centre short stay, off-street car parks.
