Riders launch coaching Academy

British_Basketball_League_(emblem)Leicester Riders are excited to announce the newly established Coaching Academy for 2015-16.
The purpose of the Leicester Riders Coaching Academy is to recruit, develop and nurture young coaches to help expand the current talent pool and enhance the quality of coaching within Leicestershire. The goal being to provide a pathway for ambitious young people aiming to become future Community coaches and National League coaches within the Riders.
The Academy will aim to work with coaches whom will be invited by the Riders to be part of the programme. Those involved will meet once a month, with sessions incorporating a combination of classroom and on-court learning.
A guest coach from the Leicester Riders Performance Coaching Staff will attend each month to deliver sessions for the Academy Coaches throughout the season, following up with an on-court coaching clinic.

The Riders Women’s Head Coach, Matthew Harber, believes the introduction of the new Academy is providing an exciting and necessary opportunity for new coaches wanting to be involved in the Riders programme: “We’re all very excited about the launch of our own Coaching Academy this year. It will undoubtedly improve our coaching throughout our entire pathway and help to strengthen the coaching team here at the Leicester Riders.”
