North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

209Two more roadshows to seek the views on where new homes and jobs are needed in Hambleton over the next 20 years take place next week.

Local residents can attend Northallerton Town Hall on Tuesday 19 January from 2 – 7pm and Stokesley Town Hall on Thursday 21 January from 2 – 7pm when officers will be on hand to answer questions and give out information on the district council’s ‘Issues and Options’  section of the new Local Plan for Hambleton – this is where the opportunities and challenges facing the district and ways in which development could address them will be identified.

Currently the council has been focusing growth in the centre of the district, primarily in  Northallerton and Thirsk and Sowerby, but this approach is under challenge from developers promoting sites around Easingwold and Stokesley, where the council aims to restrain growth.

It is hoped that local people will have their say through these roadshows on whether this is the right approach or should the council should be spreading new development more  evenly across the District?

Further information about the Issues and Options consultation is available at www.hambleton.gov.uk/localplan.  Hard copies are also available from all district council offices in Northallerton, Stokesley and Easingwold and in local libraries or email the  planning policy team at  planningpolicy@hambleton.gov.uk

The public consultation runs until 5pm on Friday 19th February 2016

A further session will take place at Bedale Hall, Ball room, Bedale, Thursday 28 January from  2 – 7pm
