North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Rockliffe Hall has named Daisy Chain as its nominated charity for 2017, to help raise funds for the Tees Valley based organisation which helps children with autism, and their families.

The luxury hotel, golf and spa resort, in Hurworth near Darlington, hopes to raise £15,000 for Daisy Chain through a variety of events including golf days, special dinners, murder mystery nights, afternoon teas and Spa Garden events. Members of the Rockliffe Hall team will also take part in a range fundraising initiatives including the Great North Run, the Three Peaks and the Coast 2 Coast Cycle Ride.

In addition, on check-out, guests will be asked if they’d like to make a voluntary £1 donation to Daisy Chain. The specially equipped centre, in Norton, offers a haven for children with autism. The centre includes an outdoor sensory play area, soft play area, sensory rooms, an animal barn, agricultural and horticultural opportunities and nature trails. Daisy Chain helps more than 1700 families in the Tees Valley supporting 581 children each week, and provides parents, carers and siblings with support and a resource library.

Eamonn Elliott, Chief Executive at Rockliffe Hall, says: “It’s a pleasure to link with Daisy Chain as our nominated charity for 2017. The organisation helps so many children in the region, and their families and they receive no financial support from the government so they need every penny they can get to continue their fantastic work. We already have lots of exciting events planned at Rockliffe and our staff have signed up to plenty of fundraising challenges so we look forward to raising pots of cash for a very worthy cause.”

Judith Haysmore, Chief Executive of Daisy Chain, says: “We are so grateful to Rockliffe Hall for choosing to support Daisy Chain this year. The support from the staff and visitors to Rockliffe Hall will make a huge difference to the families that we support In the Tees Valley. We have lots of great events ahead and look forward to raising more awareness about autism.”

Events already confirmed include “Come Dine With Us” dinner event (3rd March), Afternoon Tea (10th May) and a Murder Mystery Night in September. More dates will be confirmed soon.
