Rockliffe Hall, the North East’s only five red star hotel, won two accolades at the North East Hotels Association Excellence Awards 2016 last night, with five additional team members being named runners-up.
The hotel, golf and spa resort near Hurworth in County Durham was the only hotel to be shortlisted in all ten categories of the awards, which reward individual staff members for their achievements. The winners were announced at a glittering ceremony at the Hilton, Newcastle-Gateshead, on 25th February.
Rockliffe Hall’s Human Resources Manager, Kathryn Hancock, won the Inspirational Leader Award. She’s been at Rockliffe since 2009 and has recruited, inducted, trained and developed every team member from before the Rockliffe Hall doors opened.
The Rockliffe Hall community team also won the Community Award. They’ve helped raise over £20,000 for local charities last year, and were involved in a range of events and activities to support the local community.
Five team members were also runners-up at the awards:
Sales Excellence Award – Ben Sloan, Reservations Supervisor.
Leisure Excellence Award – Robin Dale, Fitness expert.
Service Excellence Award – Anton Coburn, Head Concierge.
Best Arrivals Experience Award – Lee Cummins, Concierge.
Shooting Star Award – Kimberley Heron, Assistant Brasserie Manger.
