ValentinesRoses are red (and white) as couples prepare to celebrate Valentine’s Day at Sunderland’s Stadium of Light.

On Saturday February 14, the city centre stadium is hosting a romantic candlelit dinner in its Riverview Brasserie, including a carefully compiled menu of locally-sourced and seasonal produce.

Diners can make the most of the experience by crafting their own three course feast from a selection of starters, main courses and desserts, all followed by coffee and petit fours.

This includes a choice of homemade country terrine with toasted bread and fruit chutney, smoked salmon with pickled cucumber and sour dough, roasted red pepper and tomato soup or heritage tomato salad with goat’s curd to start.

For main course, diners can opt for a rack of lamb, slow cooked beef, chicken breast stuffed with tarragon mousse, fillet of cod rarebit or brie and asparagus tart, all served with a selection of seasonal vegetables and potatoes.

To end the evening, there’s a choice of four decedent desserts, including white chocolate and raspberry mousse, coconut panna cotta with tropical fruit, traditional homemade sticky toffee pudding and a selection of farmhouse cheeses with fruit chutney and biscuits.

Valentine’s Day at the Stadium of Light is priced at £55 per couple and must be booked in advance by calling 08719111555 or emailing conf&banq@safc.com
