The Pride of Table Tennis Awards run by Table Tennis England, Saw Bishop Auckland Table Tennis Club come runners up as Club of the year 2018, this was the second time the club had been finalist in the 3 years, with the club winning the award in 2016.

“To be short listed into the final 3 is some achievement” said Matt Porter, Club Chair “to have won it once and runners up in 3 years shows were doing something right.

The judges were impressed with how the club balanced a large community programme of Primary and secondary after school clubs, community sessions for all ages and abilities including disability sessions while also running talent development programmes and development pathways for all players while also achieving national success without compromising the community spirit ethos of the club.
