Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Ryecroft Glenton Encourages Silence to help Raise Funs for North East Children

17989Ryecroft Glenton, one of the North East’s leading firms of accountants and business advisers, is supporting a national charity’s ambitions to establish a new service in the North East.

The Newcastle-based firm is holding an online silent auction in October for Chance UK’s National Development Programme. Funding for this work will help the charity establish new social franchises throughout the UK including a programme in partnership with an established children’s organisation in the North East.

To support the fundraising, Ryecroft Glenton is encouraging businesses from across the region to donate auction lots, which will be listed on the firm’s website to encourage bids.  Bids for the items can be placed by emailing Carl Swansbury at carlswansbury@ryecroft-glenton.co.uk or Sara Farrey at sarafarrey@ryecroft-glenton.co.uk between the 12th and 23rd of October.

Ryecroft Glenton has already secured a weekend stay in a five-star North East hotel and a signed Sunderland AFC shirt. Auction lot donations can be made by contacting Carl Swansbury at carlswansbury@ryecroft-glenton.co.uk or Sara Farrey at sarafarrey@ryecroft-glenton.co.uk

Chance UK delivers one-to-one mentoring to primary school children who have behavioural difficulties and are at risk of being permanently excluded from school. These children are at increased risk of getting involved in anti-social and criminal behaviour later in life.

Established in London and operating across a number of boroughs in the Capital, for the last 10 years the charity has operated a series of social franchises around the country, which deliver its programmes. These social franchises are established and supported through the Chance UK’s National Development Programme.

The programme matches the children with adult volunteer mentors on a one year programme, who help them improve their behaviour, raise their self-esteem, and fulfil their potential.  The charity also provides intensive support to the parents of the children that they work with.

Carl Swansbury, Partner at Ryecroft Glenton, said: “The help Chance UK gives to children and their families is truly life changing and will really benefit our region.  I’d encourage businesses and individuals from across the North East who can support us with auction lots and, of course, in October, with some generous bids, to come forward.”

Gracia McGrath, Chief Executive of Chance UK, said: “There is a high level of need for our services in the North East which is why we have targeted the region. We are confident that, through a social franchise in the North East, we can deliver positive outcomes for children in the region.  We are very grateful to Carl, Sara and the team at Ryecroft Glenton for the support they are offering and we hope that the silent auction is a success.”
