Screen Shot 2015-09-01 at 09.23.43A North Northumberland cricket team has been refreshed both inside and out thanks to a local businesswomen gladly stumping up for new whites and china cups for afternoon tea in the pavilion.

Since moving into rural Rock six years ago, recruitment expert Sara Eke has taken a keen interest in her local community and as an avid supporter of local cricket, she’s decided once again to pitch in to help sponsor the village club having recently supplied new playing kit. This year, she’s also provided new tea sets for afternoon tea and the times when rain stops play.

Sara started her business, Sara Eke Recruitment Ltd in Tynemouth 12 years ago and moved north in 2009 where she has adapted well to rural life both personally and for her growing recruitment business. She now works with clients from the Borders to Teesside with the majority of her work coming from Northumberland and North and South Tyneside.

Rock Cricket Club chairman and ECB Level 2 coach Thomas Parkinson was bowled over at Sara’s generosity.

“Sara has sponsored our kit a number of times now but the current clothing is the best we’ve had. We must be the smartest club in the county and when you look good, you feel good and play better. It’s all about self confidence and taking pride in our appearance.”

Sara has also had a number of mugs and a teapot specially made to be used for afternoon tea during all the home games.

“Rock is a lovely place to live and work and I’m very lucky to have these splendid cricket facilities almost next door to me. I believe in looking after the people around me and I use this philosophy both at home and at work,” said Sara.

“My clients and candidates are all treated with respect and I put a lot of effort into matching the right people to the right job at the right time. I’d like to think I’m a century scorer but I also catch some excellent candidates for my clients too.”

Indeed, Sara’s scores are impressive. In 12 years she has placed more than 450 people into permanent jobs with total salaries in excess of £8.1 million. In addition to providing candidates for permanent jobs and temporary roles ranging from cover for sickness, holidays, longer term posts and maternity leave, Sara also offers a CV service.

“My passion is recruitment and unlike in cricket, there are no boundaries to how many “runs” I can complete for my clients. Like Rock Cricket Club, I’m dedicated to winning and bowling my customers over.”
