North East Connected

Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Redcar_and_Cleveland_Borough_CouncilMEMBERS of the public are being encouraged to have their say on the future of Guisborough Town Hall as Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council wants to hear what local people think.

Community events will be taking place on Monday 20 June between 3pm and 7pm and Tuesday 21 June between 3pm and 6pm.

Both events will start at Guisborough Town Hall so attendees can get a feel for the building and then a question and answer session will be held at Sunnyfield House.

The events are being supported by an online consultation for anyone unable to attend.

Councillor Dale Quigley, Cabinet Member for Economic Growth at Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council said:

“The Grade II listed building, located in the heart of the town centre, was purchased at auction by the council last year due to the importance of the building to the town.

“This consultation provides the local community with the opportunity to feedback their ideas and suggestions on the future of the building whilst providing an understanding of what is realistically achievable.

“We value the views of local people so please share your thoughts with us.”

Following the consultation, a workshop will take place in July to present the findings to the public and a report prepared with possible options for the development of the building.

If you would like to have your say, please attend one of the community events or visit www.redcar-cleveland.gov.uk/guisboroughtownhall and complete the online consultation.
