Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

scarborough afd lagreFinal preparations are being made for the eighth annual Armed Forces Day in Scarborough on Saturday 25 June.

An action packed programme of events awaits the crowds that are expected to flock to the coastal town to pay tribute to the UK Armed Forces and share in the day’s celebrations.

The day runs from 10.00am until 5.00pm starting with an air to sea rescue display by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) and Her Majesty’s Coastguard (HMCG). The official civic welcome and presentations will take place at 12.00pm at the formal area on Foreshore Road.

At 3.40pm, there will be an air display by the Hurricane and Spitfire of the RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF), which has been made possible by TransPennine Express’ sponsorship of a Flying Display Director, to ensure full compliance with new safety rules set by the Civil Aviation Authority.
