Bespoke software development consultancy Scott Logic will this month open its doors for the first time to passionate technologists who want to get under the skin of some of its projects for blue-chip clients.

The free to attend open evening, to be held at Scott Logic’s office at St James’ Gate in Newcastle, will see some of the firm’s software engineers discuss their work on a variety of business-critical systems for clients across the world, before drinks and snacks are served.

From 6pm on September 27th, software developers, testers and user experience designers are invited to chat to the people behind the code and see examples of Scott Logic’s work in action, from front end systems using HTML5, JavaScript and D3, to back end projects featuring Java, C#, and Node.js.

There will also be a chance to see some of its work on projects for both iOS and Android mobile systems, and to take part in the firm’s interactive virtual stock trading game, Dead Cat Bounce, before enjoying beer and pizza and chatting with Scott Logic staff.

Scott Logic’s Head of Development Rob Newsome said: “As a consultancy that offers a completely bespoke service to clients in complex and technically demanding areas such as financial services, our technologists have to be at the cutting edge. Over our 11-year history, we’ve made a real difference to our clients and their customers by combining a strong focus on user experience with world-class software engineering.

“The diversity of projects we’ll be offering insight into will hopefully appeal to a wide range of people with an interest in software, and also be of interest to those curious about the Fintech industry.”
