Hopping Across The North East From Hub To Hub

Screen Shot 2016-06-07 at 11.58.55Shakespeare fans are being invited to enjoy outdoor performances of two of the Bard’s most dramatic plays at Darlington’s Head of Steam railway museum.

Darlington Green Theatre will be presenting a series of special performances of Macbeth and Hamlet as part of the museum’s summer events programme. Both plays are abridged and last around one and a half hours.

Audience members are invited to take their own chairs and picnics, but seating will also be provided. Hot and cold drinks, crisps and biscuits will also be available from Museum Reception before each performance.

There will be five performances in all, to be held as follows:

Thursday 30 June at 7pm – Macbeth

Friday 1 July at 7pm – Hamlet

Saturday 2 July at 4.30pm – Macbeth; and at 7pm – Hamlet

Sunday 3 July at 4.30pm – Macbeth

Sarah Gouldsbrough, Acting Manager at the Head of Steam, said:

“This will be great chance to enjoy some of Shakespeare’s most dramatic works in a relaxed and unusual setting and we hope people of all ages will come along to join in the fun.”
