Fast growing, award-winning PR and communications agency, Fusion PR (UK) Ltd, has appointed Sheena Griffiths as account director following significant company growth and a series of new business account wins.

Bringing over 20 years’ agency and senior in-house management experience to the role, Sheena will now advise, support and provide a high level of strategic PR and marketing expertise to a range of commercial B2B and B2C clients including international organisations, owner-managed businesses and regional SMEs.

For the past 10 years, Sheena has worked for highly successful companies operating within industries including residential and commercial property development, leisure and recreation, data technology and satellite communications. Prior to that, she headed up the PR division of a full-service marketing agency working across sectors such as education and training, housebuilding, manufacturing and hospitality.

And, having carved a career working on both sides of the client-agency fence, her vast commercial experience will see new and existing Fusion PR clients reap benefits from a very realistic, market-driven and business development-led approach to their PR and marketing activities.

John McCabe, managing director of Fusion PR which has recently been shortlisted as Outstanding Small PR Consultancy of the Year 2017 in the CIPR PRide Awards (North East), commented, “Sheena has built a very impressive career on both the agency and client sides of the public relations industry and her appointment brings a new dimension to our work.  Fusion PR has experienced significant growth over the last couple of years and Sheena joining our ranks ensures we are very well placed to continue this positive trend.”

Last year, Fusion PR saw turnover increase by 50 per cent, triple its headcount through prestigious new business wins and also relocate to larger premises at Blyth Workspace, Northumberland as part of expansion plans.

As well as retaining its existing client portfolio, the last 18 months has seen the company appointed to represent and support three of the region’s biggest ongoing investment projects; the energy sector’s €2 billion North Sea Link, Lynemouth Power’s £320 million investment into its biomass fuel conversion and AkzoNobel’s new £100 million manufacturing unit in Ashington.
