Shoppers treated to a spectacular summer party at intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square

An indoor beach, a pirate ship, peacock stilt walkers, garden games and more were on offer during intu Metrocentre and intu Eldon Square’s spectacular summer party.
Over the weekend, shoppers enjoyed a host of free family fun with live music, food, entertainment, children’s activities and prizes galore.
At intu Metrocentre shoppers started the summer in style, relaxing in a giant deckchair while the North Tyneside Steel Band provided a joyful, tropical soundtrack.
Giant seagulls circled the malls while little ones played at the indoor beach, tried their hand at crazy golf and snapped selfies with the hilarious Granny Turismos.
The summertime fun continued over at intu Eldon Square where shoppers were treated to an eclectic mix of music and chic beauty demonstrations, while peacock stilt walkers delighted visitors of all ages.
The shopping centre’s smallest visitors enjoyed garden games, face painting and creative children’s crafts, including the chance to decorate your own garden gnome.
Samantha Dixon from Consett, visiting intu Metrocentre with her husband Alan and daughter Payton Lola, said; “There’s such a lively atmosphere at the centre today. The music from the steel band is making everyone so happy and everyone is being so nice. We’re really enjoying our day!”

Rebecca Bowen, from Morpeth was visiting intu Eldon Square with her partner James and their two sons Matthew and Steven. Rebecca said: “We’ve had a really great day, the live music has been fantastic and the boys have loved having a go at croquet and getting their faces painted.”
