Singing school pupil Kirsten entertains at Ingleby Care Home

YOUNG singer Kirsten Malley-Watts has been serenading Stockton care home residents.

The 12-year-old All Saints School pupil performed songs at Ingleby Care Home as part of an RE project to help the community.

Residents enjoyed Somewhere Over The Rainbow, We’ll Meet Again and White Cliffs of Dover, to name a few.

Kirsten’s mother, Margaret, chose Ingleby Care Home as its local to her daughter’s school, in Ingleby Barwick.

Margaret said: “We contacted the home to see if Kirsten could come in and sing for the residents, as a way of building her confidence with performing, and as part of her RE school project.

“She passed her singing exams at Wintstone Primary School, thanks to her music teacher Beth Nutter, so we’ve been looking for places for her to gain experience performing for others.

“Kirsten absolutely loved singing to the residents and has asked to come back again.”

Kirsty Walsh, activities coordinator at Ingleby Care Home, said: “We were delighted when Kirsten asked if she could come and sing to our residents.

“There’s nothing they like more than a good sing-along and joined in with Kirsten on a number of songs. We’d love to have her back again.”
