Bannatyne health club in Coulby Newham has become one of the only health clubs in the area to offer Speedflex, the innovative low-impact, high-intensity fitness session.
Speedflex, which boasts former England striker and Match of the Day summariser Alan Shearer as a director and ambassador, opens high intensity internal training (HIIT) to people of all abilities due to its inclusivity.
Speedflex machines automatically respond to, and create resistance levels based on, the individual’s force, which means there are no traditional weights involves, and users work to their optimum level, while exercising multiple muscle groups simultaneously.
The Bannatyne health club in Coulby Newham joins Bannatyne Darlington as the only health clubs in Tees Valley to offer Speedflex. The group-based session, which takes place in a dedicated studio and is led by a Personal Trainer, gives a full body, cardio and resistance workout and can result in reduced, or no, post-exercise pain.
At the official launch of Speedflex at Coulby Newham, VIP guests were invited to the health club for a special reception, with a performance from singer-songwriter Craig Riley, who is soon to appear on the BBC’s new singing show with a twist, ‘All Together Now.’
Justin Musgrove, chief executive of the Bannatyne Group, said: “We strive to provide our members with the latest in fitness technology and the introduction of Speedflex at a number of our health clubs is part of this commitment and keep us at the forefront of the sector.
“I am proud that our Coulby Newham members will have access to this exciting new concept, which has proven to be extremely popular at our Darlington and Mansfield health clubs where it is already in operation.”
Chief Executive of Speedflex, Paul Ferris, said: “Speedflex has had an overwhelming response and the concept is proving to be a hit with customers of all ages, proving that it is so much more than a passing fitness fad.
“Our ongoing partnership with the Bannatyne Group has been extremely effective. We have successfully delivered three launches so far, and we hope that the members at its Coulby Newham health club enjoy this fantastic fitness opportunity.”
