Spooky Halloween fun at Head of Steam

Visitors can enjoy some ghostly goings-on and spooky shenanigans at the Head of Steam – Darlington Railway Museum later this month.

The museum will be getting into the Halloween spirit as it hosts a Little Boo Fun Day on Sunday 22 October, 11am-3.30pm.

Spooky decorations will transform the museum while visitors are urged to dress up in their favourite Halloween costumes to join in the fun, with activities for all the family including arts and crafts, treasure hunt, spooky magic shows, face painting and mini train ride. There’s also a host of tasty snacks on offer in the museum café.

Kelly McStravick, events and admin officer at Head of Steam, said:

“Our Halloween fun day is one of the highlights of our events calendar and always proves to be really popular with visitors of all ages.

“Everyone gets into the ‘spirit’ of it, with staff and volunteers decorating the museum and donning fancy dress. We’d love to see as many visitors as possible also dressing up for the occasion.”

Normal museum admission fees apply £4.95 for adults, £3.75 Concessions and £3 for children. Under-fives go free.

Alternatively, you can sign up to the Family Annual Pass on the day for the special price of £10, instead of the usual £15. The Family Annual Pass gives unlimited access to the museum for two adults and up to four children for a whole year. It includes entry to most events, or discounts on others such as the ever popular Santa at the Station.
